Budae Jjigae, or often called "Army Stew" is a popular dish in Korea. The history of its creation comes from the starving Korean Army during the Korean War, mixing what was available in the American military base at the time. Korean ingredients available were kimchi, red peppers, & bean paste, along with American ingredients like hot dogs & spam.

It's a dish where one's creativity can go beyond the basics. Spice, meat, veggies, noodles, cheese... you name it! You can add anything you would like in this stew. Take this meal kit & see what you can do with it! Feel free to add more ingredients as you enjoy for a happy tummy! :)

Cooking instructions

  1. Saute kimchi & butter or oil on medium to high heat for 3 minutes in a medium to large sized pot
  2. Turn fire off, place kimchi on one side of the pot
  3. Arrange all ingredients as you like except ramen noodles & cheese (you don’t have to put all ingredients in at this time)
  4. Add chicken/veggie stock & Budae Jjigae on Fleek Sauce on top and add 3 cups of water
  5. Boil on high heat for 3-5 minutes with lid closed
  6. Once it is boiling turn heat to low/medium & add ramen and cheese on top, cover the lid and let it heat for another 1-2 minutes
  7. All ready to enjoy! Option to keep fire off while enjoying or keeping fire on low heat (on portable stove) and add extra ingrediens & water as you go!
